Different types of gin:

Basically, we can say that the taste of gin depends on the botanical elements used in its production.

The most common types of gin are

Classic Gin: This is the most traditional type of gin and is characterised by its dry and aromatic flavour. It is made from a grain ferment flavoured with juniper berries, coriander, angelica and other herbs.

Citrus Gin: It has a smoother and sweeter flavour than classic gin. This gin is made from a grain ferment flavoured with juniper berries, orange peel, lemon and other aromatic herbs.

Spiced Gin: This has a stronger and spicier flavour than classic gin. It is made from a grain ferment flavoured with juniper berries, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and other spices.

Herbal Gin: Like citrus gin, it has a smoother and more aromatic flavour thanks to the use of herbs such as thyme, mint, lavender and other aromatic herbs.

Floral Gin: Floral Gin is characterised by a softer and more delicate flavour due to the presence of flowers such as rose, jasmine and others.

Fruity Gin: Fruity gin is a gin that has a sweet and light flavour due to the incorporation of fruits such as orange, lemon, strawberry and others.

When choosing a gin, it is important to consider the flavour you prefer and the end result you want.

If you are looking for a gin with a dry and aromatic flavour, you can choose a classic gin. If you want something with a smoother, sweeter flavour, a citrus or fruity gin is your best bet. On the other hand, if you prefer a stronger, spicier flavour, try a spiced or herbal gin.

Gin can be used in cocktails, and we recommend that you choose a dry or floral gin. If you want to enjoy your gin on its own, choose a flavoured or aged gin.

As well as being a key ingredient in many classic cocktails such as the Martini, Negroni and Gin & Tonic, gin can also be used in cooking, for example in stews and soups.

With so many different gins to choose from, you're sure to find one that suits you. It's all in the taste.
