Exotic Asian aromas in your favourite Te Tonic whisky cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1,70 oz (5cl) whisky
  • Pilé ice cubes
  • Grated ginger
  • Grated galanga
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated honey
  • Chilled Ginger Ale
  • 1 lime slice

Construction

Carved old fashioned cocktail glass

Garnish

Grated galanga and ginger and lime slice.

Preparation

  1. Pour whisky on a shaker and add 2 ice cubes, juice of half a lime, a teaspoon of granulated honey, grated cassia cinnamon and grated cocoa.
  2. On a short mixing glass, infuse whisky and grated ginger and galanga.
  3. Leave stand for 3 minutes and, in the mixture, dissolve a teaspoon of granulated honey in half a lime juice. Avoid wet tools when manipulating honey.
  4. On a carved old fashioned cocktail glass, add pilé ice cubes and pour strained mixture.
  5. Add chilled ginger ale and garnish with grated galanga and ginger and a lime slice.
